User Experience: Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X platforms. They are experts in human-computer interaction (HCI) who are both detail-oriented and technical in nature. UE engineers strive to provide the best possible experience for all VMware customers by applying the latest techniques and methods including think-aloud sessions, storyboarding, interviews, personas, conceptual modeling, high/low fidelity mockups, usability studies, and contextual inquires. The UE engineers work side-by-side with engineering to deliver enterprise applications using the latest technologies.

User Interface: Engineers interested in UI design, human-computer interaction, distributed computing and Web technology get to design and implement Windows, Linux, and Web-based UIs for using and managing real and virtual machines. They work with the latest technology in user interfaces and APIs for managing computer systems.

Responsibilities:
In our User Experience Group, you may have to opportunity to work first-hand with some or all of the following:
- Assist in developing user models, designing and prototyping user interfaces for interaction
- Assist in developing and maintaining user interface specifications and guidelines
- Help resolve design tradeoffs and implementation issues
- Conduct necessary front-end research and support usability efforts throughout the product development cycle

Requirements:
- Bachelors, Masters Degree or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
- Completed coursework in operating systems, computer architecture, compilers or networking
- School or industry projects involving significant design and development
- Experience/knowledge in Flex, HCI, wireframes, mockups
- Experience/knowledge with CSS, HTML, XML, Flash, JavaScript, Java
