Primary Responsibilities
- Audit IT environments to determine the amount and use of VMware software that is deployed by VMware’s customers. This is performed using forensic auditing techniques and technical skills.

- From the overall audit strategy, further develop and execute an audit approach that is specifically tailored to each customer’s IT environment and entity and geographical structure.
- Analyze license purchase and support and subscription data; integrate into the audit approach.

- Test software inventory lists for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare, and share with the customer, a report of the results of the data collection, ensuring that the customer understands and agrees with the deployment and usage report prepared.
- Obtain a thorough understanding of VMware products, market and business environment.
- Update metrics specific to designated key performance indicators and complete monthly reporting requirements.
- Construct and standardize all processes and procedures for the technical aspects of software license reviews.
- Lead the creation of a worldwide technical forensic audit team in the future.
- Work closely with the internal global engagement managers and support team.
- Minimum of 33% travel is a required element of this position. Candidates must be able to work on multi-location, global engagements.

Primary Qualifications

- The ideal candidate will have four to seven years of experience in Information Technology, Software License Compliance, and/or Software Asset Management. One to two years of experience in some management capacity is preferred.
- Four-year Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent technical degree.
- Any of the following relevant industry credentials a plus: Microsoft Software Asset Management MCP, MCSE, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA A+, ITILv3, or PMP certification.
- Strong analytical skills in Microsoft Excel and/or Access.
- Firm understanding of general terms in software license agreements (i.e. EULA, ELA, etc.)
- Broad understanding of Software Asset Management principles.

This includes the functional and technical design of the software, developing and validating entire functional components and modules, collaboration with the team on integrating the product and its infrastructure, code reviews, improvement of the software development process, guiding and coaching junior team members. - Experience in leading feature or product implementation
- Very good understanding of software testing techniques and passion for building quality products
- Strong understanding of the software development methodologies, processes and principles. Experience with agile is a plus.
- Very good communication skills; English language is a must.

Strong pluses:

- Experience with the technologies listed above
- Experience developing enterprise-class software in a multi-cultural environment
- Experience using and developing virtualization or cloud-based software
- Proficient in Networking and/or operating systems: Windows, Linux or Unix
- Knowledge and understanding of enterprise IT processes and ITIL
