This is why we are tackling one of the biggest challenges facing enterprises and IT today. The story is as follows. The end-user computing landscape is going through its biggest transformation since the introduction of the PC. As a workforce, we are becoming increasingly mobile and tech savvy. More than ever before, we want the freedom to work from anywhere and at any time. Moreover, our expectations of IT have increased. We expect our work technologies to offer the same efficiency and user experience that the consumer technologies we use at home offer. Many IT orgs are seeing consumer technologies such as Dropbox finding their way into the enterprise, but these point solutions are difficult to manage and secure and fail to meet the needs of the enterprise. What companies need is an end-user technology platform that is built from the ground up for the mobile and tech savvy workforce, giving them easy access to their corporate data and applications from any device. This technology platform needs to match the same simplicity, effectiveness and user experience of consumer technologies, while offering IT the security and manageability that enterprises needs. VMware Horizon team has been working with customers and end users on building this technology platform. We are launching the platform in 2013 and want YOU to be part of the history we will create.

Product Marketing Manager – End User Computing

As a Product Marketing Manager on the Horizon team, you are going to be responsible for defining, positioning (internally and externally) and driving the execution of the go-to-market plan. We view our Product Marketing managers as business owners who have a clear understanding of their markets and buyers, know the key drivers of their business, and take responsibility for the overall success of the product in the marketplace. You can expect to perform tasks such as these:

- Develop positioning and messaging that resonate with customers, communicating product features/capabilities in terms and categories that customers understand, care about and are willing to pay for.
- Build financial models to help drive strategic decisions such as pricing and packaging.
- Develop strategic plans to capitalize on new market opportunities. Present plan to VMware executives.
- Determine and drive a go-to-market strategy that will enable VMware to have successful product launches and enter the market as a product leader.
- Work with a cross-functional team (e.g. business development, alliances, product management, sales, channel partners, and engineering) to drive successful product releases
- Know the customer. Have close relationships with important customers and be able to evangelize how our products have been successful in different customer scenarios
- Work with sales to understand the Horizon sales cycle such as buyer personas, sales motions and adoption barriers. Work with a cross functional team to streamline the sales cycle.
- Create sales enablement materials that help sales reps and partners effectively position and sell our products against the competition.

Requirements:
- See the forest, not the trees. We operate in a complex and rapidly evolving market with little known information. You have to be able to abstract away from the details and see the big picture.
- Be scrappy! You will need to make a lot of decisions with little information. It’s up to you to figure out quick-and-dirty ways of getting the data you need to make the right directional choices.
- Possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. In fact, 1-2 years of management consulting experience is preferred.
- Be a good storyteller. Have the ability to communicate that story verbally and in writing. Be able to translate geeky-widget-speak into business benefits that resonate with customers and reporters.
- Get stuff done. As a startup within a larger organization, we need to move quickly and produce content and programs at a fast rate.
- 2-5 years of experience doing awesome things in the technology space. To be honest, we care more about your intellectual horsepower, judgment and quality of thinking, than we do about your specific experience.
- A B.S. in a technical degree and an MBA are highly preferred.

Location

Palo Alto, CA, US

Is this a remote or multiple location position?

<span class="TEXT" id="Is this a remote or multiple location position?">No

Requisition Number

<span class="TEXT" id="Requisition Number">39134BR

Next you’ll have to implement the needed modification to our own or integrate the selected third party
crash handling utility into our application framework without any regressions in terms of crash handling compared to
our existing facility. The final result should be that during any kind of a crash in a process executing a binary based
on our application framework a corresponding core dump is successfully generated where we’ll focus on crashes
caused by stack overflows, access violations and out of memory conditions.
Opportunities:
- Will have immense technical growth by researching cutting-edge technologies, advanced development
process and programming practices
- Will get acquainted with VMware portfolio, internal classifications, different projects and areas.
- Practical information related to process implementations and related data representation on multitude of
platforms
- Practical experience with low level OS facilities used to manipulate process related information on Windows,
Linux, Mac and vSphere.

Performance Objectives:
1. Quality of the information based on the conducted research – An important part of this project is the decision if
we should enhance our own facility or employ a third party one. The latter will be based on the information
provided based on the research conducted in the first phase. So we’ll pay special attention on what sources were
used for this information and how pros and cons are evaluated.
2. Code quality – the most important part of this project is that the resulting crash handling facility, once running, is
extremely reliable i.e. it shouldn’t crash itself under any circumstances. The latter is the responsibility of the
developer and he/she is encouraged to employ any applicable approaches to achieve the latter including
thorough code coverage with unit tests, strong static typing, static asserts, static code analyzers, bounds
checkers etc.
8/22/2012 2
3. Implementation correctness – crash handling utility should create crash dumps according to the defined file
format for the corresponding OS as a result of any of the crash conditions. The latter will be measured by running
the corresponding crash dump analysis tools against the produced crash dump files.
4. Design quality – Design quality is taken very seriously in the vmacore team. Any changes that have to be made
to our application infrastructure will be thoroughly reviewed by at least two members of the vmacore team who
will later provide their evaluation on the overall design.
5. Team work – an important part of our work within VMware is interacting with our customers (which in our case
are other teams inside VMware). At the end of the project we’ll gather feedback.

Competencies:
1. Good knowledge of OS architectures and different process abstraction implementations
2. Good knowledge of C/C++ and OOP for Linux, Windows and Mac
3. Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms, design patterns and unit testing
4. Good analytical and problem solving skills and ability to work independently
5. Willing to innovate, learn and share knowledge
6. Some exposure to source control and bug tracking systems
7. English and ability to communicate effectively;

Location

Sofia, BG

Is this a remote or multiple location position?

<span class="TEXT" id="Is this a remote or multiple location position?">No

Requisition Number

<span class="TEXT" id="Requisition Number">39901BR
