This position requires a technical leader who can create and execute the strategy that will ensure the stability, security and integrity of VMware's corporate data, voice, call center, video and wireless services. This individual will  lead and manage a progressive support staff in a complex and global environment and maintain national and international vendor relationships to ensure an optimal environment. This individual will participate in, as well as direct the design, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimization of, all communication platforms at VMware. It is critical that the right candidate work closely with all affected departments to provide solutions which are suited to their needs, while adhering to commonly used industry best practices. The right individual will work on creating both strategic and tactical plans relevant to department and company goals.<br/><br/>Success in this role requires very strong technical leadership skills, a broad background and understanding of every aspect of Networks & Telecom architecture, technology, operations and vendor strategy in the cloud era, the ability to envision the Network/Telecom operating model of the future, experience in the design of network monitoring and management and monitoring frameworks, and strong abilities in the areas of process development and management, organization, planning, and communication skills. It is also critical that this individual have skills to manage, motivate and lead a highly technical team of Network and Telecom architects, engineers and support staff.<br/><br/>Responsibilities<br/>We are seeking a seasoned technical leader who has the demonstrated ability to provide disciplined and inspired leadership with experience in building and running high performance Network and Telecom infrastructure, design, deployment and operations teams. The role requires a solid technical background and specific deep experience in all aspects of Network and Telecom strategy in terms of architecture, design, operations, vendor strategy and cost management. The ideal candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of industry leaders and partner technologies, and emerging Network and Telecom industry trends and best practices.
