In addition you will take part in projects to help build out the function, mature the process and increase efficiency. You will work closely with quality engineers and developers to contribute in shipping products with very high quality.

Responsibilities:
- Take full operational ownership of set of regression tests including execution, monitoring, triaging, debugging, optimizing, measuring and improving effectiveness of the suite of tests
- Manage hardware assets for the set of regression tests
- Drive multiple concurrent product/branch stabilization activities
- Capture and report key metrics to convey health of codebase
- Drive process improvements to more efficiently trap bugs earlier in SW life cycle
- Help improve quality of the product by identifying bugs in the product
- Work closely with development engineering to resolve defects in a timely manner
- Mentor junior team members
- On time delivery of test deliverables, project tracking, status reports

Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field with 3 or more years of direct/related experience
- Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to work independently and be able to prioritize and handle multiple outstanding tasks
- Must be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills and be willing to knock on doors.
- Prior test operations experience – test execution in production environment
- Experience quality engineer covering QE lifecycle testing.
- Familiarity with unit and functional level testing
- Experience in leading and driving QE efforts on medium to large projects
- Proven track record in development and/or QE
- Strong technical experience in:
o Operating system fundamentals (task
scheduling, memory management)
o Basic systems administration (installing and configuring operating systems and hardware)
o Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems
o Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Python/Perl, Django, Shell scripting, Java, C, C++
o Test automation experience

o Storage and networking experience
o Database experience mySQL
o Working knowledge of VMware products – ESX, Virtual Center, Workstation, FusionLocationPalo Alto, CA, US

- Design the test cases to closely simulate customer's reality usage and find the approach to implement
- Design and develop automated or manual tests by following on the common guidance, design/develop test automation libraries and utilities if necessary
- Create test schedules, Perform integration/interOp testing, identify quality issues, track software defects, perform quality assessments, report quality status, follow up with engineering teams to handle the issues properly
- Lead/work with a small group of engineers who might come from different teams to assure end to end product quality for major integration features of a solution deck or a suite
- Act as a customer advocate, looking for new ways to improve current quality processes and procedures
- Mentor junior engineers

Requirements:

- BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Master is preferred
10+ years experience developing and/or testing in an enterprise or system level environment.
- Excellent analytical skill and critical thinking. Good leadership and initiative to work with teams which might cross different business units, departments
- VMware product and/or Cloud computing experience
- Strong experience in gathering test requirement from customers, PMs and reading spec., familiar with risk based test design, test cases (automation/manual) implementation and execution, test resource/planning knowledge Integration, InterOp experience
- Passionate about quality. Good understanding about the best practice, processes, methodologies of QE, detail oriented and good follow through skill. Deliver the testing report to different functional teams, management, project, engineering etc. clearly in regular basis
- Able to work with cross functional teams and handle the collaboration among teams to finish the end to end product integration/interOp testing independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess the in-depth knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows/Linux) and one or more of the following areas: system administration, networking and transport protocols, Storage (SAN) and file systems technology

Nice to have:
- Strong, hands-on development experience in Java/C++ object-oriented programming
- Experience on automation infrastructure, especially framework that can handle the integration/interOp testing such as STAF/STAXLocationPalo Alto, CA, US
