The Network Technical Alliance Manager will be a technical liaison for our networking partners. The individual will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of partner relationships in support of the overall business strategy. The position is located in Palo Alto.

Responsibilities:
• Support VMware Alliances by providing technical enablement for networking partners:
Assist partners’ development, testing, and validation efforts through:
• architectural reviews
• roadmap presentations
• virtualization networking guidance and best practices
• product/solution evaluations
• partner lab and proof-of-concept direction and assistance
• creation and delivery of Virtual Appliances and other solutions
Act as partner and industry-trend advocate with VMware internal stakeholders
Technical issue escalation
Joint collateral review

• Provide VMware Alliances with evaluation and prioritization of partners’ technical capabilities and value to the VMware ecosystem.
• Educate VMware sales force on partners’ networking integrations / solutions and assist with customer inquiries/escalations.
• Represent VMware at partner trade shows, technical forums, and events.

Requirements:
• 3+ years experience in technical roles, with customer-facing skills as an SE or Consultant working with networking solutions.
• Thorough knowledge of and experience with planning and configuring x86 computers with an emphasis on networking protocols and architectures. In addition, the candidate should be comfortable with operating system installations, troubleshooting and configuration; with specific emphasis on Windows 2000 & 2003 and Linux.
• You may be the sole VMware representative present at partner meetings. You should be an accomplished presenter of business and technical material to both small and large groups. Excellence in extemporaneous presentation is required.
• Excellent organizational skills and comfort with a rapidly changing business environment are essential.
• You should be able to grasp concepts quickly and to explain complex technologies well. He or she must be self-motivated, highly committed, and utilize excellent project management skills.
• Industry-recognized training and certification are highly preferred (CCNP or equivalent).
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience.
